Poetry…?
When you write poetry,
do you tend to write more about fictional things

Real things or about things I see or think about.
i usually write right after something happens to me, and i put all that emotion into a poem that expresses what just happened.
A mix. Someone once said that occasionally you have to lie to get at the truth.
mostly likely a mixture of both.
I think about the things I’ve heard in real life, though they are not necessarily real things.
i build fiction upon what ive already experienced/seen/felt/thought
Whats really interesting is that I was discussing this with a friend and thinking about it quite a bit. I believe that the majority of people write about their immediate surroundings or about experiences. I have been trying to steer away form that. Sometimes, embellishing certain details or changing some memories are the best way to get your message across.
