The eyes are the window to the soul. This is the theme that drives Staring Blue Eyes, a poetry anthology written by award-winning author-poet Daryl Ross Halencak. In an attempt to find what lies into the creative, intelligent spirit deep within him and to discover his true essence.

About the Author

Daryl Ross Halencak is an award-winning author or prose poetry, recognized in the 17th Annual Artists Embassy International Dancing Poetry Festival, where he was invited to give a reading of his work in San Francisco, California. He was an invited reader in the 2011 Woody Guthrie Poetry Festival. Halencak was honored by the World Poetry Movement and he has been published in the Cesky Stopy magazine. He has been co-host of a Czech radio program promoting the Czech culture in a thirteen county area. The author published a non-fiction article in the CZECH DIALOGUE, an English/Czech magazine and he has volunteered in editing for the publication in Prague, Czech Republic.

Halencak is a practicing attorney with the offices in Crowell, Texas and Seymour, Texas. He is owner of Baylor County Abstract Company, Inc. in Seymour, Texas; and Homestead Title Company, Inc in Crowell, Texas.

The author has been married over thirty years to his wife, Jane. His hobbies include gardening, travel, and swimming, reading and, of course, writing. His other interests include his pets as well as theatre and cinema, especially David Lynch films. His favorite writers are Franz Kafka, Allen Ginsberg, Walt Whitman, Gunter Grass, David Sabine, and James Hoggard. Both sides of the authors families have lived in Foard County, Texas, for over one hundred years, where he currently resides.

I wrote this to try and promote a healthy discussion. These are my views and opinions, but that does not mean that you must agree. If you want to defend your views and beliefs please do, but please do it in such a way that will shine a light on your beliefs and not embarrass them. I struggled with whether I should even upload this video or not, but I prayed about it, and you obviously can see the outcome of that. One World, One Love, One God. (While I appreciate all the Bible quotes, you must respect my belief to question the absoluteness of quotations that have been translated from their original language and passed down from generation to generation by flawed men. If the Bible is truly God’s word, why are there different versions of the Bible? The original video claims we should be weary of religion because it has been corrupted by man, I am certainly not disagreeing with that aspect of it, just talking that idea even further to encourage reflection. )

The great and undeniable love the Lord has for each person is one of the most important messages one can hear in life. For them to know there is a God willing to forgive all indiscretions no matter how big or small is a life changing conversation. There is not, however, one default conversation to use when it comes to sharing the gospel. How can I separate a prologue from the poem?
I hadn’t intended too, but I somehow ended up creating a sort of preface for a poem I wrote. It’s out of place with the rest of the poem as in it’s pure imagery whilst the rest of the poem is more emotional. It all has the same theme, but doesn’t work cohesively. Any suggestions?

Why not re write it in a more emotional context, or leave it out and adapt it to use with another poem, or create a new poem from it. I’ve read your work before, you should have no problem making the changes you think are right for the piece.
