A Different Christmas Poem

After receiving an email of the awe inspiring poem A Soldiers Christmas, written by Michael Marks, I felt compelled to create a video montage (using the song “I Believe by Era) that would complement Mr. Marks words. I hope it touches you as much as it did me. HAL Marine Veteran Semper Fi

Thank you, for posting and remind us how we should be thankful for our country instead of complaining. I was not bless to be born in the US, but the US are my heart and soul and I’ve been praying every single day in my life for the Lord let me be in this room to swear allowance to the flag and make me a pride US citizen. So, for the one who was bless to be born don’t take it for granted, like we can’t take our troop for granted.

I see that over 1,400 people “like” this tribute and that 34 “dislike” it. I am shocked and horrified at both of those numbers. That only 1,400 said that they liked this, in a nation of over 300 million people. As for the 34 that voted this down… that is self explanatory as to why it horrifies me.

Never forget the sacrifices of the members of our Armed Forces.

@charger712002 Believe me, we appreciate you. We are getting involved in so many ways back at home you would be surprised. Just know we pray for you and appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. God Bless You!

@Quasimoto44 Thank you for your service. I just finished reading “Heart of A Soldier,” by James Stewart and I am thankful for men and women like you every day. I am hearing more and more people who are getting involved by giving to military programs, trying to do something to show they support our military, and it warms my heart. God bless you!

@Quasimoto44 My fiance was killed in Vietnam in in December 1967 and it still seems like ‘yesterday’ to me.
God bless you and all of the Vietnam veterans for the sacrifice you gave in honor of our country.
    Love, a wounded woman …

Outstanding! A beautiful poem with a needed message. The emotional delivery of the message via touching music of “I Believe” by ERA make for a wonderful expression of hope and respect for those who risk their lives to preserve this country. God bless…for this inspiring work.

I agree with you Quasimoto44. My husband was in the Navy in Binh Thuy, South Vietnam River Boat Patrol in a Landing Craft. 70-71. He also served our Country proudly. Thank you for your service. I know he nor I will EVER FORGET!

This is the best video I have ever seen. I am deploying June 28th, and I may never come back The people who dislike this video are absolutely pathetic and worthless. Those people don’t derserve to have us fighting for them

This is one of the most beautiful tributes to our Men and Women fighting to keep us free. Thank you and God Bless you all!

this poem was wonderful. i have been deployed twice going for a third. been a long time since anything hit me, but this brought real tears. glad to see it going around the world. alota people say they appreciate soldiers but it never seems sincere. this shows a true part of what our lives are.

I want to give my heartfelt Thanks, to all the Men & Women who have served & are serving our Country so unselfishly. None of us, who have not walked in your boots, can relate to your sacrifice. Special Wishes to Michael D, who’s in Afghanistan now too. On horseback in the Mtns. looking for BinLaden. Your choice to return to war, after years away, is most honorable.
To ALL, prayers for Safety & coming home.

I’m not close to my father, a Vet of WWII. I spoke to him about his service to our country just last week, for the first time. We never do have much to say & I rarely see him at all. But this earful gave me pause. I thanked him for his sacrifice. He spoke of the meaning of Bing Crosby’s White Christmas to him. I was touched by such a warm memory. A small bridge was built w/that call. That harsh man of 90 was vulnerable after all. When I go to NY in Jan. I will visit my dad. It’s been years now.

I’m very sorry–the deep pain never goes away. I lost high school buddies in ‘nam and I cry even now thinking about some of the carefree days we had in school. Little do we know what is on the horizon. I praise and thank your brother for giving his life so we can sit here at our computers and freely write messages.

God bless the USA and God bless every one of our military men and women. I have always felt a great deal of respect and admiration for vets–my own father having been a WWII vet. He endured dysentery and other diseases, came back in with shrapnel still in his back weighing about 100 lbs. He was proud of his service and until he was at the end of his life, still talked about his service and shared stories about his buddies with us. Always with tears in his eyes–mine too. Even now.

My father served in the Korean and Viet Nam War. I was very little. He has since passed away- I would like to say thank you for serving Dad! I miss you each and every day as the sun shines down on our lives. You were such a great person and I love you very much!

We owe all our vets and fallen heroes since 7/4/1776 and troops now defending our freedoms which represent less than 1% of our population a debt that can never be repaid .. Without their selfless, brave, courageous 24/7 sacrifices and those of their families, we certainly would not be celebrating Christmas or likely even speaking English! A HUGE THANK YOU to you all for giving us our freedoms! God bless you all and keep our troops in harm’s way safe …
